The Tokyo Disney Resort (東京ディズニーリゾート) is a theme park and vacation
resort located in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan, just east of Tokyo. It is owned and
operated by The Oriental Land Company with a license from The Walt Disney
Company. The resort opened on April 15, 1983 as a single theme park (Tokyo
Disneyland), but developed into a resort with two theme parks, two (Disney) hotels,
and two shopping complexes. Tokyo Disneyland was the first Disney theme park
opened outside the United States. Tokyo Disney Resort has three main
entertainment sections: Tokyo Disneyland; Tokyo DisneySea; and Ikspiari, which is
a variation of the Downtown Disney shopping, dining, and entertainment area
found at the Disney resorts in California and Florida. It also contains Bon Voyage!
which is the official Disney goods specialty shop of Tokyo Disney Resort.
In 2008, the Tokyo Disney Resort will open a new theater housing a new Cirque du
Soleil production. It will be the first permanent Cirque du Soleil theater outside of
North America. Tokyo Disney Resort has three main entertainment sections:

Like the other Disney resorts, Tokyo Disney has numerous hotels. Its official
hotels, Hotel Miracosta (the building which the entrance to Tokyo DisneySea is
located at), and Disney Ambassador Hotel are the most expensive, yet provides
the best view and the overall experience. It has 5 other hotels which are located on
the TDR property, however, are not official Disney hotels. (Similar to "Good-
Neighbor-Hotels" at Disneyland Resort in California.
The Tokyo Disney Resort is operated by Toshio Kagami.

Tokyo Disneyland (東京ディズニーランド) is one of two theme parks in the
Tokyo Disney Resort located in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan, near Tokyo. It was the
first Disney park to be built outside of the United States and was opened on April
15, 1983. The park was constructed by Walt Disney Imagineering in the same
style as Disneyland in California and the Magic Kingdom in Florida. It is owned by
The Oriental Land Company, which licenses the theme from The Walt Disney
Company. It, along with its companion park, Tokyo DisneySea, are the only
Disney parks not owned by The Walt Disney Company.
There are seven themed areas, each complementing each other yet unique in
their style. Made up of the World Bazaar, the four classic Disney lands:
Adventureland, Westernland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, and two mini
lands, Critter Country and Mickey's Toontown, the park is noted for its huge open
spaces to accommodate the massive crowds the park receives on even
moderate attendance days - Tokyo Disneyland was, up until three years ago, the
single most visited theme park in the world, and its sister Tokyo DisneySea was
the second.
Tokyo DisneySea (東京ディズニーシー) is a theme park at the Tokyo Disney
Resort located in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan, just outside of Tokyo. It opened on
September 4, 2001. It is owned by The Oriental Land Company, which licenses
the theme from The Walt Disney Company. It, along with its companion park,
Tokyo Disneyland, are the only Disney parks not owned by The Walt Disney
Company. Tokyo DisneySea has become one of the world's most visited theme
park and one of the most popular Disney Parks in the world. An estimated 12.2
million visitors visited the park in 2004 [1]. It was the second theme park to open
at the Tokyo Disney Resort, and the ninth park of the eleven worldwide Disney
theme parks to open.
Ikspiari (イクスピアリ) is a shopping, dining and entertainment complex at the
Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan. Owned and operated by The
Oriental Land Company, it is the Japanese equivalent of the Downtown Disney
complexes at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts in the USA.
The complex can be reached by the Tokyo Disney Resort Line, the resort's own
monorail service, and also by car. It is popular with the Japanese local community
as well as international tourists visiting the resort for the famous Tokyo
Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea theme parks.
How To Get There
Tokyo Disney is located near Maihama Station on the JR Keiyo and JR
Musashino lines between Tokyo and Chiba. It takes about 25 minutes from Tokyo
station.
